The elephant-headed Ganesha is a great Hindu deity that resides in heart of people. The Son of Lord Shiva and Parvati is the most beloved God whose name is taken first before any diety in every Pooja. Lord Ganesha, the supreme lord removes all obstacles and gives us all power to attain success in our work and business.
The lord of new beginnings, mouse rider, the elephant-headed Ganesha is all there to be with you for the next 10 days. The festival is of huge prominence in some states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Goa, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujrat. The lord is here to shower great abundance and bliss!
“वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय सुर्यकोटि समप्रभ
निर्विघ्नं कुरु मे देव सर्वकार्येषु सर्वदा”
Getting lost in spiritual bliss
The birthday happens to be 10th September this year. Celebrations will end on September 21, paying the final goodbye(viserjan) to our dearest deity. Lord Ganesha becomes our guest for 10 days with dedicated worshiping him in the morning and evening. It’s fun getting engaged in preparing their favorite laddoos and modaks for the prasad.
The social festival involves coming up of people together to praise their Lord and seeking blessings for success in life. It’s certainly a moment of great pleasure to bring the idol of Ganesha to one’s place. Well, I am too excited for tomorrow when Ganesha wrapped in a cloth will arrive at our place. It gives delight in cleaning the premises and decorating it with flowers and lights to welcome our favorite lord. Just counting on hours……..
However, it is also true that time flies. Just 10 days and there you will be bidding goodbye to the elephant-headed Lord Ganesha. Every year with heavy hearts we say goodbye, urging him to come early the next year.
” Ganpati Bappa Morya agale baras to jaldi aa“
Anyways, for the moment I am all ready to give him a great welcome. Are you?
May Lord Ganesha Bless us! Seeking blessing for everyone…….
